I listened to this talk on TED recently and it’s been echoing through my head ever since. The speaker, Bryan Stevenson discusses racism against African Americans and provides some pretty sobering stats. And I’ll never forget the points he makes about the death penalty. So it’s a little long but well worth listening to – especially in light of the recent striking down of the Voting Rights Act. Here it is:
Edited later: I just heard of the George Zimmerman not guilty decision (I sometimes avoid the news on the weekend). But that verdict is all the more reason why this compelling.
